Contest Winners - Edmonton Professional Photographers

Over the past few weeks there were quite a few images battling it out for votes, but in the end we've definitely found a contest winner. After tallying all 123 VOTES, it has been determined  that #14 collected the most votes with a total of 33. Which is pretty cool, considering it's been entered it into the PPOC Alberta Print Salon Competition. Congratulations Elisa and Marco! You'll be getting an IPOD nano loaded with your pictures and other musical treats.

We most definitely have to give honourable mention to some other fan favourites, #7, #2 and #12, and #17!

We want to send out a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who's participated and gave us such nice feedback. We're glad you liked the pictures.

One more thing.....Congrats to B! You win a $150 portrait session and a $150 print credit :D  Along with a 'Best of 2009 songs Playlist'.  YAY!

The Garries are having a baby! - Edmonton maternity photography

One of my bestest friends is going to be having a baby!!!! And I cant wait to snuggle it.

You know how they say that in life we are blessed, if at the end of the day we can say we have a few good, honest, loving friends? Shaun and I get to say that. And Joanna and Taylor are some of those friends. We love them.

The coming year is sure to be filled with changes and surprises for these two, but they make a really great team and this little Taylor Tot is going to be super blessed with such a fantastic life ahead of it.

When we started talking about doing some maternity photography for Joanna, it was clear from the beginning that we wanted to show off her awesometastic belly in a not so typical way. In a gorgeous, look how hot I am sort of way. And, so as not to let Taylor and Rufus feel left out we let them show up in a couple of images too. :)

This next shot might need a little explanation. Joanna is a cinnamonbunoholic these days. Ikea cafeteria cinnamon buns to be specific. yum yum yum.

Rufus wants to play too!

Suzanne and Thomas Engagement Session - Edmonton Wedding Photography

I don't think its uncommon for people to look back and reflect on those times in life where we make specific decisions that ultimately change our lives in one way or another. I can recall a few key moments in my life where I stepped off my current path to head in a different direction, when I took risks to try something that scared the crap out or me, or when I've taken a deep breath to introduced myself to someone new who I thought looked interesting, that completely changed me life. Suzanne and Thomas' story reminds me of these moments.

They made a decision to try something new and step out of their comfort zones. These two met at their UofA Ballroom Dancing classes. Deciding to take that class was one of those types of moments. They gave us a little preview of what to expect, but I can only imagine how wonderfully fancy their wedding dance will look!!

Last Wednesday these two braved some super chilly weather down by the Kinsmen field house, but stayed upbeat the entire time. They seemed to be so comfortable with the camera in front of them. It was like we were watching them one of those first few dates where everything's so fun, playful and lovely. So great!

Suzanne and Thomas visited us at our booth at the Edmonton Bridal Fantasy show over the weekend and we were able to give them a little photography surprise! Here are a few of our favourites, some of which they now have in a little fan out book.

Jennifer and Kyle Elkow - Edmonton Wedding Photography

There are many ways to be living the dream...Jen and Kyle have decided to live it in AUSTRALIA for a few years! We say, well done.

Jen and Kyle were married on January 2nd 2010, probably one of the coldest day of the new year so far. She had promised her wedding party they wouldn't have to brave the outdoors for any pictures, but I begged and we got a few. yay. We spent the majority of the day warming up in and  around the business building at the University of Alberta, but ventured out for a few wintery images. Jen and Kyle toughed it out for quite a while, and we think it was worth it. Her pink wedding dress looked fantastic against the white snowy trees!

Dana and Brett - Edmonton Wedding Photography

There are so many perks of the job when you're a photographer. Taking photographs may be our favourite part but we also get to meet and hang out with so many great people. Last Friday we took Dana and Brett out on a little hike through our gorgeous River Valley. They live in Saskatchewan and had come up to spend a weekend in Edmonton with Family.

The weather was beautiful, and knowing that Dana and Brett love the snow, it was fitting that we got to some fun snowy shots of the afternoon! They are such a friendly, outgoing couple with a fantastic sense of humour. It's most definitely going to be a wedding to remember..especially because we'll be bringing in the new year with them!!

Here are a handful of images from the afternoon...a few more to come soon :)

Looking forward to seeing you at Bridal Fantasy this coming Sunday!!
Cheers.
