Annie and Tommy Jankovic - Edmonton Wedding Photography

Stepping into a different culture for a weekend is just one of the many perks we have has wedding photographers. We were lucky enough to be welcomed in the Croatian Culture with the Cavcic and the Jankovic families last week. After a very traditional ceremony at the Croatian Catholic Church, the bride and groom chose the NAIT HP centre as a modern portrait location which we thought was very cool. Having never shot there before, it pushed us to be even more creative. The whole day was filled with family, friends, love, laughter, good food, drinks and good dancing. They pulled out all the stops by performing the Lindo dance later on in the evening. It comes from the Dalmation region of Croatia and it has always been performed at weddings after a few drinks have been had. It involved spining, twirling, the men dancing over cups and a lift. A full on upside down bride lift! We had a wonderful time spending the day with you all. Hope you enjoy some of our favorite pictures.

Magda and Mike get Married! - Edmonton Wedding Photography

On September 26th, 2009, Mike and Magda got Married. It was on this splendid windy day that I decided I might like to be Polish on the day that I get married. If not for the fabulous people, food and drinks, then for the dancing! As soon as the formal part of the reception was over almost every single couple stepped out on to the dance floor. It was fantastical.  We got to know Magda and Mike through a couple of her photographer friends Kinga and Margo, so shooting their wedding was like attending a friend's wedding with special privileges.

We had a wonderful time, thank you so much for letting us partake in your day. All the best.

Oh so pretty, I think this one is one of my favourites :)

Thank you for braving the weather with us outside. I think Edmonton broke a windy day record.

Mike had some awesome kicks!

So many good looking photographers in one picture ;)

Danielle, Dean, Dominic and Mikaelle! - Edmonton Family Photography

Danielle's back for more! I did her maternity session a few months ago, and I was super excited to get the chance to do the whole family this time. It's getting cold outside these days, so we've started to photograph families inside with studio lights if they like. The Lorenson Family was the first to try it out. Dominic was so adorable, he couldn't help himself from goofing off, there was so much to look at and play with. After the family stuff was out of the way, the boys took off, and we got to spend time with little Mikaelle! She was so precious, and slept through almost the whole shoot in her momma's arms. Here are some of the cutest shots.

Glenna -Maternity Session

Glenna received this maternity portrait session as a shower gift from a couple of her friends.  She's a soon to be mother of three who looked stunning in the afternoon light in this shoot. Her daughter Addison joined us for a few pictures with her mom too. While at first a little shy and tired from her nap, it didn't take long before Addison was all smiles for the camera. It was great to meet you both, here are a few images from the session.

The Burnstad Family - Thanksgiving Family Portrait Session

The Burnstad's celebrated Thanksgiving a week early and we got to join them! They are one of those families where the minute you step in the door, you're treated like part of the family.

Alayna's been a friend of mine for a few years now and I always look forward to seeing her because it feels like no time has passed at all. She invited us out to her parent's farm in Red Water, Alberta for a family session and then some portraits of her and her husband Colin, they run an Outfitting business and needed some images for their website.

Thank you so much for the delicious meal and wonderful afternoon. :)

I don't know why, but I luv the hay bales one, there's something about it that makes me want to run around and play in them again.

I should mention that Alayna and her father are avid horse lovers!!

Here's the whole lot of them!

Can you feel the LOVE?!
